With the UK motor manufacturing sector eagerly awaiting details of future trade deals with European counterparts, we received a timely visit from Midlands MEP Emma McClarkin on Friday 7 October 2016.
Having recently received a Queen’s award for International trade, our vested interest in the Brexit deal being positive for the UK is evident, not least owing to the fact that 90% of our business is to mainland Europe.
Miss McClarkin’s visit coincided with her coming from the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham and saw her talk with various Red Arch staff on her tour around our Long March factory.
Finance Director David Wykes said:
“The discussions with Miss McClarkin were very open and constructive. Clearly there will be challenges for businesses like Red Arch who export a large percentage of their product to the major European Automotive Manufacturers. Access to this market is key to the business remaining competitive. However, Red Arch is a strong business built on innovation and technology, and we will continue to lead the way in both products and processes to generate new revenue streams within the OE Automotive sector.”
Emma McClarkin MEP said:
“It was a pleasure to visit such a successful British business, which increased turnover by 87% in the last year alone. We had an engaging and open conversation about both the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for British companies, and it was good to hear their views.”
